my current obsession is...

shoes.

i mean, shoes are normally an obsession, but this month i have legit reasons why i need them! 

a] summer is in the air, so sandals are a priority.

b] my pair of moccasins have passed on & a pair of beige loafers are on their way out.
c] i have finally given in to the fact that i am not getting any younger. i'm on my feet all day - i need shoes that are attractive and supportive.

d] i read this post from joanna, and i got super giddy to find unique wedding shoes. especially since i am slowly piecing together wedding details :)

it's finally getting chilly in charlotte... which means all i want to do is put on a cozy over-sized sweater, grab a mug of tea & turn the fireplace on. here are some sweaters i'm crushing on at the moment :)

i am dying over warby parker's new fall collection. primarily, the red framed 'sloan'. and when i looked up red frames on etsy, i found two big, thin frames that are equally amazing. so yeah, it's official - i'm obsessed. looks like i know what i'm getting myself for an early christmas present :]

tonight is the night of open studio project's annual fundraiser, artopia - this year named 'the great artsby'. i chose a great gatsby theme for the event & am so excited to see how it turns out! i'm anticipating lots of pearls, sequins, fedoras & feathers :]

well, shoes aren't really a current obsession - they're more like an ongoing obsession ;] but these summer sandals are inspiring me in all sorts of ways. i mean, all beautiful fashion inspires me. the feel of the materials, the blend of the colors, the feeling you have when you wear it... it's just wonderful.

i just adore my ring. it goes well with my dream/hope/wish/believe ring on my middle finger, don't you think? it's always nice to have some optimism on your hands <3

well, the good news is summer is just around the corner. but the bad news is that i'm not ready for it, at all. when i decided to do some 'window' shopping online to find inspiration, i found a common theme - neutral.

the color isn't very summer-y - but the items i found were so fresh and bohemian, that i couldn't help but love them anyway.

yep.

their new store/website has made me want to do crazy things. get married. have a wedding. plan a wedding. decorate a wedding. try wedding dresses on. style a bride. etc. all of their dresses are so romantic, and their decor is so fun and vintage-looking. 

i'm obsessed.

  

look at these amazing gowns - both are greek goddess-y and ethereal, and just down right stunning. there are more, too! have a look. truth? i found my future wedding dress on their site. no joke. i showed my mom & a., and they both said it's 'very me' :]

 

sweet floral bunting and colorful cloth napkins are two of my favorites on their website. i love how all their things look homemade/rustic/vintage - so pretty. what's even better is that everything at bhldn is such great inspiration for those of us who are on a budget! a lot of it is totally d.i.y. worthy.

i just love everything wedding/event related [it's what i went to school for!] and this post has made me contemplate whether or not i should start a wedding-esq tumblr.

so serious question: would anyone read it?

what are you obsessing over this week?

current obsession.

now that we are all moved in, i am trying to piece together the apartment little by little. we've painted the living area, have gotten the kitchen all unpacked & decorated [see below], and have started decorating the guest bedroom. we still have so much to do. we have yet to paint our bedroom, still need to unpack the office, and are in the process of trying to find new [inexpensive] furniture.

because our apartment is a ground unit, it is a bit dark. i have been yearning for more light, and therefore have started to gravitate toward the color white. since we painted the walls a yellow-y taupe color, and i want to add white accessories.

i've already started in the kitchen with white mugs & porcelain containers from anthropologie. i got the cute little white and green waterer from the flea market in shipshawana, as well as the vintage new orleans sign. i'm a fancy woman, and a. gambles - why wouldn't i get it? :D

and then today i decided to paint my black hand-me-down mirror. needs a lil' touch-up & scraping, but looks good so far.

what i really want, though, are two white storage ottomans to replace our ginormous coffee table [that we eventually want to make into a dining room table]. you can see the ones i want at my pinterest - along with everything else i want & love, thus far :] this site is addicting, so beware!

hopefully in the next couple weeks i'll have more 'white' things to show you - so stay tuned! :]

lately, i have been fantasizing about eyewear. glamorous, sassy and unique eyewear. something that no one would imagine me wearing.

warby parker is the best website to browse for sexy, yet subtle glasses. they even tell you which face shape each pair looks best on, aaaaand give you a virtual try-on tool! it gets better. for every pair of glasses sold, they provide a pair to someone in need. amazing, right?

there are three pairs that i am eye-ing [har har]... these, these and these!

i already have a sturdy black pair [even though they have kitty bite marks all over], so i am looking for a neutral pair and a WOW pair. with my new red hair, maybe the green glasses will pop. eh?
