hello, friends.

although today is friday, it's like a monday for me - the start of another crazy week of seven full days at the store, and lots of side-work in between. adam and i were lucky enough to get away for a couple days, though, before the madness started. we visited the biltmore & grandfather mountain's mile-high bridge. have you ever been? it was lovely, but very scary since it was extremely windy that day.

the past seven days have been wonderful - work, friends, family, travelling back to michigan... but it all went by too quickly.

i know it's crazy, but i am already missing grand rapids.

2. i found some super cute/super inexpensive moccasins at target.

what a week! 

between the holiday, start of pumpkin spice latte season, the amy poehler/will arnett separation, the crazy rainstorms and the DNC, i'm surprised anyone got anything done! i know i didn't, heh ;)

 1. our president made such an amazing speech last night. i am so proud of him and am so proud to be an american <3 

2. my first pumpkin spice latte of the season.

3. alicia silverstone's 'the kind diet' is changing me in ways i never thought possible. have you read it?

4. coffee with bailey's on a rainy labor day night.

5. cotton candy italian ice at a local fair. yum!

6. the coolest/cutest watch EVER. pick it up at a thrift shop for $15 :]

7. feeling sassy on a sunny morning of running errands.

8. finn looking too cool for school.

it's friday, friday, friday.

this week consisted of lots of working. but it also consisted of lots of reading, snuggling, good food and exploring.

1. apparently dave matthews [yes, of the dave matthews band] makes wine, and CPK had his newest called 'crush'. it was delicious.

2. i treated myself to a fancy lunch on tuesday. kinda fun.

3. adam and i visited the epicenter downtown for a music night that they put on weekly. 

4. i've been on reading kick lately, and as you know, i love kid lit. so i'm super excited that i found a new series - the mysterious benedict society. if you love kid lit as much as i do, you should check it out. if not, tell your kids or younger siblings to read it so that i can discuss it with someone ;]

5. i finally got an anthro card in the mail & was pretty excited about it.

6. now that i'm living in the south, i figured i ought to invest in some cowboy boots. i thrifted these for $15 & they're real leather!

1. my sleep bear.

2. i was coffee bean of the week! that means i got an extra break & lunch money! pretty exciting stuff, guys.

3. ash is a mischief maker sometimes.

4. the sun was playing hard to get this week.

5. but there was at least one day that i was able to spend by the pool.

our week was chalk full of work, sleep & outside time. how was yours? today is our day off, so we'll be relaxing, exploring & unpacking the last of our boxes.

we made it to charlotte in one piece & we're loving it! the heat is definitely something to get used to, but the southern hospitality has made us feel right at home.
